Care of Ethics

Feminist Ethics and the ethics of care was given a psychological analysis of woman’s moral decision-making by Carol Gilligan. She discussed

the different approaches men and women perceived moral problems. She felt that justice and rights were focused by men while women thought about relationships and making moral decisions. Men and women both possess female thinking qualities.

I think that this is a sexist in categorizing men and women in such a fashion. Men and women all possess the psychological capability for emotional and rational approaches to problems. There is deep bias that I perceive in her writings. There are many men who are passionately emotional about issues, and women who are very pragmatic about rights and justice. As the literacy of our society developed in the world; these views have changed over the past century. Religion has a great impact today as to how men and women are to conduct themselves in today’s society. Only recently in 2015 did Saudi Arabian women get the right to vote.

I must admit that many middle-eastern countries, China, Saudi Arabia, and many South African countries, do not treat their women with dignity and respect. Recently the Taliban has reverted to 16th century treating of the women again. It is unfortunate that the three theoretical commitments of care ethics are not adhered to, being the self is cared for to the exclusion of the other, the other is cared for to the exclusion of the self, and moral maturity, wherein the needs of both self and other are understood.

The development of feminist and non-feminist thinkers in the enhancement of the moral theory and metaethical framework and been developed by the Rosicrucian Order, (AMORC) for thousands of years, with many people including myself, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln, Sir Francis Bacon, Johannes Kepler, Georg Joachim Rheticus, John Dee, and Tycho Brahe. The Code of Life help to promote examples of the care of ethics, in respect to being a good citizen, be humanistic, regard all humanity as your family. We should consider all race, culture, belief, and all humans as brothers and sisters.

The book “On Caring” is a short book that covers topics such as a parent, teachers caring for his child, wife and husband caring for each other.

As we get older, we realize that the growth of person developed the ideas of our caring philosophy into a way of life.

There is so much anger, violence, and lack of caring in our society it is sad and disturbing to read about in the news. Ingredients in caring include: Patience, Honesty, Trust, Humility, Hope, Courage, Respect. As the Boys Scouts of America’s motto is a scout should be: Trustworthy, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

The reciprocation of these positive and good traits is returned to us similar to Karma. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I believe that there is a constant battle on this Earth between Good and Evil. There are those that are selfish and self-centered, that respect no one, and nothing if it doesn’t benefit their ID, or darker side.

We have lost faith in our society due to our leaders, many so selfish, and seeking power, money, with no care of the ethics for those that elected them to office. This negative energy permeates through out our society almost like a disease. Oppression, war, slavery, poverty, homelessness, wage stagnation are all symptoms of a society of people that are not empathic to the needs of the collective. The meaning of life to ourselves, is enhanced by helping others, for when that occurs, those people will be there to help you in your time of need. What goes around comes around is true.

Caring for each with gratitude, faith that we can solve our problems is a self-evident truth to me. The longer you live, the more you realize that when you make the right decisions in your life to help others, the benefit yourself and others, your quality of life improves. We need to listen to each other, and have those in power to listen to the needs of the people they govern.

The fair distribution of benefits and goods in our society with the technology and tools we have, with less greed and capitalism, will go a long way to improve our planet, and quality of life to provide food, water, housing, educations, and energy needed for our planet. We just need to learn to work in concert with this planet, instead of constantly being at war with the Earth, each other, and ourselves.

It states that https://dictionary.apa.org/situated-knowledge

To me this show the historical context that it takes time for the species of homo sapiens to evolve to a higher plane of consciousness. We look at how we have gone from a species that kills with no regards for each other, and destroys the environment with no regards, or knowledge on the impact to the planet.  I read those pesticides, killers most of our Honey Bees, and Bayer company in Germany was responsible for creating a nerve gas that affects the honing abilities of honey bees. I collected honey bees as a kid, and they never stung me, because I knew if they stung me, they would die to their stinger is ripped from their bodies. Today we have to ship honey bees from Florida to all the states during the time of pollination due to our irresponsible actions. We waste water on almond trees due to our lack of vertical farming, and hydroponic water usage. We are a wasteful and reckless species. 70% plus of all water used in California and other states goes to agriculture. How do we enlighten each other with a philosophy of free education and degrees for everyone? How can we develop a Department of Defense of Education with a budget as large as the Pentagon to combat the poverty of ignorance in our country. Coral reefs are dying due to higher acid levels from pollution being dumped into the oceans, the large 500 plus square miles of the plastic patch in the Pacific is unbelievable damage whereby they have found microplastics everywhere on the planet. The good news is nature is fighting back with new bacteria that is permeating all over the world, and devouring our manmade plastics in an effort to combat the global imbalance.

"Knowledge that is embedded in, and thus affected by, the concrete historical, cultural, linguistic, and value context of the knowing person. The term is used most frequently in perspectives arising from social constructionismradical feminism, and postmodernism to emphasize their view that absolute, universal knowledge is impossible. It sometimes carries the further implication that social, cultural, and historical factors will constrain the process of knowledge construction itself. To the extent that knowledge is situated, it is difficult to avoid some kind of epistemological relativism.
